Saint-Nectaire

Made in the Auvergne region of central France, near the Dore Mountains, since the XVII century by local farmers.

Unpasteurized (raw) cow´s milk of the Salers, Montbeliarde or Holstein breeds is used to produce it.

It was introduced to the court of King Louis XIV by the Marshal Henri de Saint Nectaire, duke of La Ferté-Senneterre.

Product specifications

It immediately gained the King´s favour. A semi-soft washed rind, creamy and unctuous paste with notes of hazelnut. Soft, fluid and smelly paste of a creamy color.

It has Appellation d’Origine Controlee (AOC).
